I have a second print by William Crump that would be would be a nice pair with this one (see photo) called “The Mountain of Tomorrow’s Sunrise” which has its certificate of authenticity (I’ve misplaced the certificate for the framed piece), and it is unframed and slightly sun bleached at the edges but in perfect condition once framed - that’s a freebie :)
In 2007, I developed a new body of paintings and drawings titled High Lonesome. The title was inspired by an odd sign for a Christian ministry that I saw on a street corner while on a visit to Seoul, Korea. It read: The Mountain of Fire and Miracles. I interpreted this sign as a promise of some higher world, an exit from a world below that is at odds with its own changing identity….
